Synthetic hexapeptide

A six-residue sequence containing D-alanine, D-2-naphthylalanine, and D-phenylalanine with a C-terminal amide; a plain one-letter rendering cannot express the D-residues or the non-natural naphthylalanine.
GHRP-2 is a synthetic hexapeptide built from a mixture of natural and non-natural amino acids, including three D-configuration residues and 2-naphthylalanine, terminating in an amide. It carries the international non-proprietary name pralmorelin.
It belongs to the growth-hormone-releasing peptide series developed from the enkephalin-derived work of Bowers and colleagues, and is described in the literature as a ghrelin-receptor (GHS-R1a) agonist.
GHRP-2 is not an approved drug in the United States. Pralmorelin has been registered in Japan as a diagnostic agent; the research material listed here is not that product.
