Synthetic hGRF(1–29) analogue

The 29-residue human growth-hormone-releasing factor sequence carrying four substitutions, including a D-alanine at position 2; a plain one-letter rendering would not show the D-residue.
CJC-1295 without DAC is a synthetic analogue of the first twenty-nine residues of human growth-hormone-releasing factor, hGRF(1–29), carrying four amino-acid substitutions — D-alanine at position 2, glutamine at 8, alanine at 15, and leucine at 27 — that slow enzymatic cleavage of the peptide relative to the native sequence.
The parent sequence was characterised after growth-hormone-releasing factor was isolated from a human pancreatic islet tumour in 1982. The separate CJC-1295 molecule that carries a drug-affinity complex (DAC) is a different substance: this entry describes the material without it.
CJC-1295 without DAC is not an approved drug in any jurisdiction.
