Synthetic amylin analogue

An engineered 32-residue sequence with non-natural substitutions, an intramolecular disulfide bridge, and a lipid side chain; a plain one-letter rendering would misstate it.
Cagrilintide is a synthetic analogue of human amylin (islet amyloid polypeptide), engineered for a long circulating half-life. The design combines residues drawn from human amylin and from salmon calcitonin with a lipid side chain attached through a linker.
It was described by Kruse and colleagues in 2021 under the development code AM833, and is studied in the literature as an agonist at the amylin and calcitonin receptors.
Cagrilintide is an investigational compound. It is not an approved drug in any jurisdiction.
